House Painting – Color Approval Policy: Years ago, the HOA required homeowners to use a specific house paint and colors. However, we found that as the manufacturer kept changing paint formulas, each time a house was painted the color was slightly off, and in a few cases dramatically different. We now require that all paints selected be of a neutral color that blends with the other house colors in the community. Before a house is painted, the paint color must be approved by the HOA Board. A paint swatch must be provided to a board member or our property manager along with a completed Application for Design Review (available under Forms). Sometimes, due to underlying paint color or possibly dilution of paint if the paint is sprayed on, the swatch provided the Board does not match the final paint color. Therefore, we are now requiring that a sample of the paint be tested on the home and that you verify that the final paint color matches the paint swatch submitted with the approval form. A Board member may inspect the test area prior to approval of the new color. It is up to you to require your painter (in the event the paint is diluted) to match the approved color. The HOA Board reserves the right to require you to repaint the home if you do not follow the above procedure. |
